NZ Tour

April 2011

April 2 – May 1, 2011 Tour New Zealand in your Model A. The Model A Touring Club invites all serious Model A hobbyists to join us as we take a month-long Model A tour of New Zealand.

We will ship our cars from ports on the west coast, as well as from other ports depending on the locations of tour members. Cars will arrive at Auckland a few days ahead of our arrival. Airline departures will be from Los Angeles International Airport. Our tour will meet Model A enthusiasts along our route to Wellington, where we will embark on the ferry to South Island and join the New Zealand Rebel A Ford Club and the 10th National New Zealand Rally. The rally will encompass seven days of touring around South Island originating in Nelson.

Our tour will continue to tour South Island and see places of interest not covered by the rally. We will end the tour in Christchurch, where we will leave our cars for shipment back home. There, we will catch a plane to Auckland for our return flights to the U.S.A.

The price for this tour is $8,000 (USD) per person. A single occupancy surcharge will apply to those traveling alone. The cost will include the following: Model A Ford round trip shipping, marine insurance of $10,000 per car (additional coverage available), liability car insurance while in New Zealand, round trip airfare, all lodging, the cost of registration for the rally, about one-third of the meals, some entertainment features and trip cancellation insurance. More information will be available as the details of our plan become more firm.
