OK Tour

The Oklahoma Tour is being coordinated by Dwayne Roark in June of 2010. Here is what he has to say about this OK Tour:

Come join me on an "Oklahoma Tour 2010." Will begin in Cheyenne, Oklahoma on June 5th and end in Cheyenne with the farewell supper on June 19th. We have plenty of room to park everyone's trailers and RV's right here on the ranch.

We begin the tour going to Lawton and Ft. Sill, which remains the only active army installation of all the forts on the South Plains built during the Indian Wars.Then its on to Oklahoma City for a couple of days to visit the National Memorial and Museum dedicated to the Murrah Bombing in 1995.OKC also offers the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Museum, the 45th Infantry Museum, the Softball Hall of Fame, The firefighters Museum and historic Bricktown.

Leaving Oklahoma City, we will continue on to Guthrie, the capitol of the Oklahoma Territory.Next it is on to Tulsa via Route 66.Tulsa offers a lot such as downtown Tulsa is home to one of the largest concentrations of Art Deco architecture in the country.The Gilcrease Museum and Philbrook Museum of Art are located here for those who are interested.The Leake Car Auction will be going on while we are in Tulsa.It is the largest antique and classic car auction in the Midwest.

From Tulsa we will stop at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore on our way to Bartlesville for the night.Bartlesville is home of the only skyscraper designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.Then on to Woolroc, the ranch retreat of Frank Phillips who founded Phillips Petroleum.

Ponca City is next which offers the Marland Mansion built by E. W. Marland, the founder of Marland Oil, which later became Conoco Oil.

Then we head back to Cheyenne to play with Roarks and Malsons.Everyone come prepared to work cattle, harvest wheat with antique combines and have lots of fun.

We may have to limit the number of cars to 30, so we strongly suggest that you get your application in ASAP. (That helps us in planning, as well)
