On July 6th, we drove 243 miles to Fort St John, British Columbia.  The scenery was just about the same all day, driving through tall trees.  We never quite know where or when to eat lunch, it all depends on what is available.  We follow the Milepost Book and sometimes the cafés are closed.  Usually, there is only one cook and one waitress.  At least we know the food doesn’t sit around and go bad.  We are patient and enjoy the rest from driving.

On July 7th, we drove 201 miles to Valleyview, Alberta.  Now the scenery was plains and farming.  We usually get stopped a couple of times each day for construction.

Today, we left the hotel at 5:00 a.m. to drive 257 to miles to Wetaskiwin, 30 miles south of Edmonton.  We wanted to leave early so that we could spend a couple of hours at their “world famous” Mall.  There were 800 shops, an ice hockey arena, water park, amusement park, a hotel and animal shows.  I thought you might enjoy these pictures of a mini-Magic Mountain.  Ron challenged me to a game of miniature golf – guess who won????  We also toured the Canada Aviation Museum and the Reynolds-Alberta Museum.

We are off to Calgary in the morning.

Look for my next journal on the “Calgary Stampede”.  I hope to get a game of golf in during my stay.
